🩷 ABOUT THE ICING
Our Cookie Kits include 1 dozen freshly baked sugar cookies, but prepared icing is NOT included or sold with the kit.
Under Maryland cottage food requirements, wet icing/frosting cannot be packaged and sold as part of our Cookie Kits. Instead, we’ve provided you with our FREE Cookie Kit Glaze Recipe so you can easily prepare your own icing at home.
You can make your icing ahead of time, divide it into different colors, and decorate your cookies however you’d like!
Want to make decorating even easier?
Piping bags and sprinkles are available upon request.
Some decorators prefer to use their own decorating supplies, so we leave that choice up to you. If you’d like piping bags and/or sprinkles included with your kit, simply request them when ordering.
🎨 OPTIONAL COOKIE OUTLINES
Want a little help with your decorating?
We can print an outline directly onto your cookies for an additional charge!
Think of it like a coloring book for cookies. 🍪🎨
Your cookies will have a light black outline of your selected image or design. You simply use your icing to “color in” the design.
This is a great option for:
⭐ Kids’ parties
⭐ Birthday parties
⭐ Holiday decorating
⭐ Character-themed cookies
⭐ Classroom activities
⭐ Cookie decorating parties
⭐ Anyone who wants a little decorating guidance!
The printed outline is intended as a guide to help you decorate your cookies. You are free to get creative with your colors and decorating style!
Printed outlines are an additional charge and must be requested when ordering.
👩🍳 DECORATING TIPS
Piping Bag or Zip-Loc Bag Tips:
If you’re using a piping bag or zip-top bag:
✂️ Start with a VERY small hole.
You can always make the opening larger, but you can’t make it smaller once you’ve cut it.
Start small and test your icing. If you need more icing to flow, carefully enlarge the opening a little at a time.
For younger children, an adult should help with cutting the bags.
If the icing is too thin you can add more powdered sugar, and if the icing is too thick, add more water to thin it out.
🎨 Decorating With Sprinkles
If you’re using sprinkles, add them while your icing is still wet.
Once the icing begins to dry, sprinkles may not stick properly.
Decorate one cookie at a time:
Ice → Add sprinkles → Move on to the next cookie.
⏰ LET YOUR COOKIES DRY!
This is one of the most important tips!
Your cookies need time to dry completely before stacking, packaging, transporting, or storing them.
Freshly decorated cookies can be soft, sticky, and easily damaged.
Do not stack or tightly package decorated cookies until the icing has completely dried.

🧒 COOKIE DECORATING WITH KIDS
Cookie decorating is supposed to be FUN! 🩷
Here are a few tips to make it easier with little decorators:
⭐ Protect your table with parchment paper, a tray, or a disposable table covering.
⭐ Give each child their own decorating space.
⭐ Use small bowls or cups for sprinkles.
⭐ Start with a small opening in the piping bag.
⭐ Remind children that squeezing too hard can cause a LOT of icing to come out at once!
⭐ Keep decorated cookies flat while the icing dries.
⭐ Expect a little mess — that’s part of the fun! 🍪
IMPORTANT:
Freshly decorated cookies can be very delicate.
Handling them before the icing has dried can cause:
Smudging
Fingerprints
Broken designs
Icing being scraped off
Colors transferring
Decorations moving
For the best-looking cookies, let them dry completely before handling or moving them around.
🩷 STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Before Decorating
Keep your undecorated cookies:
Room temperature: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry location.
Keep cookies away from:
Direct sunlight
Heat
Humidity
Strong odors
Avoid refrigerating undecorated cookies unless specifically instructed, as refrigeration can introduce moisture and affect texture.
After Decorating
